Silicone rubber composite insulators (recombination bead) are high-voltage insulators made of silicone rubber materials. The main products are rod type and cross arm type, which are used as suspension and tensile load-bearing insulation on 35kV, 110kV and 220kV lines. There are also insulator products for 10kV lines.
The composite insulator consists of three parts: glass fiber epoxy resin pull rod, silicone rubber umbrella skirt, and fittings.
    It has the following advantages:
1. Superior mechanical properties: Since the core rod is made of epoxy glass fiber, its expansion strength is 1.5 times that of ordinary steel and 3 to 4 times that of high-strength porcelain. The axial tension is particularly strong, and it has strong vibration absorption capacity and shock resistance. The damping performance is very high, 1/7 to 1/10 of porcelain insulators.
2. The composite insulator string has good anti-pollution flashover performance: the composite insulator is hydrophobic. When it rains, the umbrella-shaped corrugated surface of the composite insulator will not be wet to form a water film, but will drip in the form of water droplets, which is not easy to form a conductive channel. The pollution flashover voltage is higher, which is 3 times that of porcelain insulators of the same voltage level.
3. Excellent electrical corrosion resistance: The leakage flashover on the surface of the insulator causes irreversible deterioration and tracking. The general standard is not less than 4.5 (ie 4.5kV), while the composite insulator is 6-7.
4. Good anti-aging performance: After ten years of practical testing, it is shown that the composite insulator has no change in surface non-wetting and electric corrosion tracking resistance except that the color becomes slightly darker and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss angle increase slightly. , Indicating good anti-aging performance.
5. Good structural stability: General porcelain suspension insulators are assembled with inner rubber. Due to galvanic corrosion, low zero-value insulation resistance will be generated during operation. Composite insulators are assembled with outer rubber, and the inner core is made of solid rod insulating materials. There is degradation and breakdown, and zero-value insulators will not appear.
    6. High line operation efficiency: As composite insulators have good weather and rain self-cleaning properties and do not produce zero-value insulators, the cleaning and inspection work can be changed to once every 4 to 5 years, thereby shortening the maintenance and power outage time.
    7. Light weight: The weight of the contained insulator itself is light, which can greatly reduce the labor intensity of the staff during transportation and construction operations.
